The Absolute Necessity for Complete Expression

I hope you’re having a wonderful summer. I’m home from a trip with Russ to Utah for a reunion with my family.

We had a great time. But one thing that stands out so clearly is the huge difference in communication styles between my family and Russ / his family.

My family tends to be cautious with our words. Our aggression is the passive kind. It’s the total opposite with Russ. Which is great, because he’s helped me practice expressing myself more directly.

This thing around expression is big for many women. As I do with a lot of clients, I’ve personally worked with my inner child and my mother wound, ancestral entanglements and past life traumas. I’ve made huge strides in expressing myself. And I’m ready for the next level.

Last week, my homeopath prescribed Bushmaster Snake venom! It’s indicated for one who is feeling the absolute necessity for complete expression. That would be me. Maybe you feel that way too.

It can feel vulnerable to speak up and share with the world all that is asking to be expressed as you and through you.

Maybe you fear - perhaps on a subconscious level - that when you ask for what you want, share what you deeply care about, shine your light, stand in your power - you’ll get squashed. You’ll be labeled as high-maintenance or a know-it-all. Others may shut you down or be jealous.

Well, you’ve probably heard this Marianne Williamson quote before, but I’m sharing it because it’s true:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
— Marianne Williamson
