What exactly is the Divine Feminine, anyway?

The phrase “Divine Feminine” gets thrown around a lot. But what does it mean? And how do you embody your own unique expression of the Divine Feminine?

Divine = God

Feminine = Mother

Many of us are uncomfortable with God. Even if we didn’t have a religious upbringing, we absorb the belief of the collective that God is masculine only. And we’re usually presented with an image of Him as punishing.

So we come up with words like Source, Universe, Great Spirit to hide our discomfort and avoid the God word. That’s why Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine are more widely used phrases than Holy Mother and Holy Father. Or Mother/Father God - which is my favorite.

When we talk of the Divine Feminine, we’re talking about the part of the Creator who is our Mother.

Here is my perspective: She is the Womb of Creation. The Void. Sometimes called the Goddess or Sophia. She is Unconditional Love.

When you’re deeply rooted in your connection with the Divine Mother, you’re connected to your true source. You become an instrument of Her love. You know who you are and what you’re here for.

Your depth of self love, your desire to take care of yourself, your capacity to receive is all rooted in your connection to the Divine Feminine.

Expressing the Woman You were Divinely Created to Be

As a woman, you are a unique expression of the Divine Feminine - a natural vessel for her return to her rightful place on Earth, alongside the Divine Masculine / Holy Father. Here are some things you can do to prepare yourself and your body:

  1. Reclaim Your Feminine Qualities
    Our culture values the masculine traits of structure, ambition, action. Practice being in your feminine: allow, slow down, create, cry, emote, be sensual, soften into receptivity, be vulnerable, trust your intuition.

  2. Love & Trust Your Body
    We’re programmed to judge our bodies and to want them to be different. Practice giving thanks to your body for carrying you through your experiences in this lifetime.

  3. Find Peace With Your Mother
    Your mother, the woman who raised you, is the template for all of your relationships. The more you heal your wounding with her, the more you’ll reconnect with your joy, your feminine flow, your gifts, your authentic self, other women and Holy Mother.

  4. Heal Your Womb
    As you release the energies of sexual trauma, past partners, lost pregnancies, infertility as well as shame, grief, anger that you carry for yourself and your ancestors - you access your Divine Feminine vitality, creation power and joy.
